Didn’t we say social networking is getting more visual? It is. On March 30, 2012, Facebook pages for businesses will switch to the new timeline layout. One of the best features is the ability to use the cover photo to entice the viewer to explore the page. Over 4,000 followers in 16 months.

When I became VP of Communications for AIGA Los Angeles in November of 2008, I started a social media program to help gain exposure for the non-profit organization. AIGA is the professional association of design with chapters all around the nation, and the largest graphic design organization on the planet. Locally, we needed to increase exposure and membership to continue to support the design community of Los Angeles.

SEO campaigns will help your search engine to increase your chances of traffic, but will visitors be targetted prospects? You have a vision, mission and brand personality, so use those tools to speak to your audience. And if you speak graciously with social media, and they will come.
